Nail Of The Day

[NOTD] Lace and Studs Nail

It’s been quite a long time since the last NOTD post! Last time I made a Polka Dots and Gradation nail, but it’s not that good so I’m not posting that one up hehehe It ended up nicely this time and looks like I put a lot of effort into it (while I didn’t!). Here’s the photo!

Pretty, no? ^_^
Pretty, no? ^_^

Doesn’t it look pretty? ^_^ I never know lace can go well with studs and rhinestones. Below I will list all the things and products that you will need. It’s actually so much easier than it looks, so you should try doing this too! The brands in the bracket are the brands that I use.

  • Base coat (Etude House)
  • Pink nail polish (The Face Shop Lovely Me:ex PK102)
  • Dark gray nail polish (Etude House Petit Darling Nails HD Beam WH703)
  • Top coat (OPI Rapidry Top Coat)
  • Scotch tape (3M)
  • Lace sticker (the point in this nail art)
  • Scissors
  • Nail Clippers
  • Some studs of your choice. I use a star, some round ones, and 2 squares
  • Some rhinestones

And how to exactly do the nails?

  • Clean your nails and apply base coat to your nails. Wait for it to dry.
  • Apply scotch tape diagonally on the index, middle, and ring finger.
  • Apply the dark gray colour on the thumb and little finger.
  • Apply dark gray colour on the lower half of ring finger, and on the upper half of index and middle finger.
  • Apply the second coat if you need to. Peel off the scotch tape before it dries, then wait for it to completely dries.
  • Apply the scotch tape to the gray area, and paint the remaining half in pink.
  • Apply the second coat if you need to. Peel off the scotch tape before it dries, then wait for it to completely dries.
  • Apply a thin layer of top coat on the thumb, put the star and rhinestones quickly before the top coat dries.
  • Move on to the index finger, measure the lace sticker needed, and cut it with a scissors.
  • Peel off the sticker and apply in the middle of the diagonal line. Repeat for middle finger.
  • Move on to ring finger, apply a thin layer of top coat, put the round studs on the  middle of diagonal line and a rhinestone on the edge before the top coat dries.
  • On the last finger, apply a thin layer of top coat and put the square studs before it dries. Wait for everything to be completely dry.
  • Apply a generous layer of top coat on the studded nails, and don’t forget to seal the laces with top coat too.

And VOILA! You’re done! Your nails will look so pretty 😀

TIPS

  • Pick up the studs and rhinestones with a dotting tool dipped in a tiny bit of top coat. You get better control this way.
  • It’s better to cut the lace sticker a bit longer, and trim it to your nail length after sticking it on.
  • Be patient! Don’t put scotch tape on wet nail because the nail polish will be ripped off.
