Current Skincare Routine 2015

As promised, here is the post where I will talk about my current skincare routine. I’ve been using these products for at least 2 months (if I said nothing else about it) and this combination works well for my skin. I’m trying to use natural products (as natural as they can be) and I’m avoiding alcohol at the moment hehehe

From my last post, the acne fighting story, you can see that my skin does get better in the last 2 months. I believe it’s thanks to these products. I will not review too deeply in this post, but I will review each products properly in my future posts. You can check my planned post on the sidebar. I’ll delete the ones I already publish, so it will be easier to keep track of what else I have to post. I’ll talk about how these products change my skin in this post.

First, let’s start with my morning routine. The first step of skincare is always the same, cleansing!

Skincare routine - The Bath Box Goats Don't Lie

I use a liquid soap from The Bath Box, the Goats Don’t Lie. This facial wash is AMAZING! It’s made of goats milk from local farmers and 100% natural. This is, of course, local product. I’m pretty skeptical with local products (sorry) but I want to start supporting them, so I tried this. Actually, I tried their Ocha liquid soap first because it’s formulated for acne fighting. But it’s a bit too drying on my skin, so I switched to this. It doesn’t leave any residue on my face, which I really really love. This facial wash keeps my face feel moisturized even right after washing.

Current Skincare Routine - The Bath Box I'll Be Perfect Facial Oil

The next step is The Bath Box I’ll Be Prefect Facial Oil. You might shake your head at the idea of putting oil to an oily, acne-prone face. I did too. But I have nothing to lose (well, except having more acne) and after reading a lot of good reviews, I decided to jump for it. This oil right here is A GAME CHANGER! My big acne dries up faster (like just 2 days, no shit) and I don’t get as much acne as before. If I used to get some acne outside my period, I only get 1 or 2 on monthly basis. Now that my face is pretty much clear from acne, I can focus on treating the acne scars hehehehe SERIOUSLY, you need to try this! They also have the one for normal and dry skin, so choose according to your needs.

Current Skincare Routine - Tony Moly Floria Nutra Energy 100 Hours Cream

Sorry for the blurry picture, I dig this out of my old photos because I already cut the tube and put the creams inside another container OTL I use this Tony Moly Floria Nutra Energy 100 Hours Cream (phew! What a long name!) as my eye cream. I have dark circles and a little bit of fine lines around my eyes. I don’t really notice a different since this is definitely not an eye cream and not targeted to fix those problem, but this keeps my eye area moist. I don’t get any bad side effects from this. But I’m running out of this, so I will either dig my cream supply to find something else, or buy a proper eye cream.

Current Skincare Routine - Anessa Perfect UV Sunscreen

My last step in the morning routine is of course, sunscreen! I can’t go out without sunscreen. I use Anessa Perfect UV Sunscreen with SPF 50 PA +++. This sunscreen is waterproof. I initially bought this to use for swimming, but my swimming time is already over and now I’m using this as a regular sunscreen. The thing I love about this is it doesn’t break me out (most sunscreen do) and it leaves a matte finish (while most make my face oily). It has a really good oil control, too! It leaves a bit of a white cast (because SPF 50) but I don’t mind since it’s not that BAM-on-your-face white.

After those 4 products, I will apply makeup if I want to. Or I can just go outside the house right away. If I stay inside all day, I don’t wear the sunscreen, so my routine will end at the eye cream hehehe

Now to the evening routine! My evening routine is nothing different than my morning, except I add a cleansing oil before the facial wash and omit the sunscreen (duh!). I make sure to double cleanse every time I use the sunscreen or makeup.

Current Skincare Routine - Kose Softymo White Cleansing Oil

I use the Kose Softymo White Cleansing Oil to clean my face before I use the facial wash. This is my 3rd bottle, and I love this! It says White on the bottle, but I don’t know if it has whitening/brightening properties. Maybe it does. That’s why I bought it anyway LOL This doesn’t leave an oily residue after I rinse it with water, and it doesn’t sting the eyes. It will only make your vision a bit blurry, but it’s back to normal after you rinse your face with water.

So after the cleansing oil, I use the same liquid soap, facial oil, and eye cream as my morning routine. And I’m done for the day!

I also have some weekly routine which I’m still trying to remind myself to do it regularly in order to have the clear skin that I want.

Current Skincare Routine - Olay ProX Face Brush

I got this Olay ProX face cleansing brush as a birthday present from my sister (THANKS A BUNCH!). She knows I’m going back and forth about buying a facial brush because I doubt it will have a good effect on my skin. But thankfully, it doesn’t give any negative effect yet. I can’t really say it helps my skin because I have only use this for 3 times, but I will keep you updated. I use this once or twice a week with my usual face cleanser and I do feel that my face is a bit smoother and cleaner after every time I use this.

Current Skincare Routine - The Bath Box Lemon Muesli

The last product in this post, The Bath Box Lemon Muesli. This is a clay face mask, targeted to help fighting the acne on your face. I know, I know, I said that I don’t have any acne on my face anymore but I’m still scared that some will come out, so I decided to go for the Lemon Muesli instead. This smells like lemon + oatmeal for me. Not a fan of the smell, but if it’s good for the skin then I’m up for it. I have only use this twice. It doesn’t break me out and I like how soft (and bright!) my face looks after I use this. I’m looking forward to finish this and try their other masks. This mask can also be used as a spot treatment, which I haven’t tried yet so I don’t know if it works well.

As a recap, here is the list of the product I use in my routine.

  1. Try out Etude House and Clinique’s acne face wash! I interchange them everytime I finish one since I don’t want my skin to get too comfortable to 1 product to the point that it will not work anymore. Both have green tube but I don’t remember the name ><

They are really good for controlling oil and overall acne, and if you need spot treatment try the origin's spot remover!
